Because the water has a slightly dark blue color, the lake is also called the "dark blue inkwell" - it is not only for this reason that it is considered one of the most beautiful lakes in the Salzkammergut. In the lake you can refresh yourself and in the local gastronomy there is also a refreshment waiting for you.

Bad Altausse
Today, the town's primary focus is on culture and tourism. A really idyllic place with many historical buildings and great places to eat is Hallstatt that tell of the old times, when the wealth was achieved here through the salt deposits and their mining.
